 i have tried to introduce icon to 4 peaple.
 one read the book and agrees whith me that it is well writen and that
the language is excelent... so long ase you are only working whith text.
 one said i can't bebouthered to learn a new language.
 two said great language so simple so clean so powerfull ... to bad there
are no graphic ruotiens...
 4/5 of the peapkle i know who know of icon have expresed a desire for
some graphic ability in the language.
 ya ya i know ... you could always have icon generate postscript files
but then why not just learn and use postscript? ( or ray-trace or ect. )

perhaps a companion language to icon ( call it scribe ) that has minimal
string manipulation words but describes sound and graphic well.

 iff i could tell my friends who say 'it has no graphic' that scribe HAS
graphic and its ase clear and powerfull as icon is whith text AND that
you can -easaly- call one from the other...then i think the popularity of
icon would increase (espechaly amonst new users).
